SCAM AT DUTY FREE SHOPS IN BANGKOK

Hello friends
I dont know this information is correct because one of my best friend told me about it.
it may be usefull Please take your time to read this.
# Extortion scam at airports - duty free shopping...be aware!!!
# PASS IT ON TO YOUR FRIENDS WHO TRAVEL A LOT!
# Unbelievable, but please be aware AND pass it on to colleagues
# All those who travel a lot, please be very, very careful.
# Read ahead...
# An Indian was detained in Bangkok for stealing a box of cigarettes in a
# duty-free shop in Bangkok International Airport . He had paid for chocolates and
# a carton of cigarettes. The cashier put a packet of cigarettes extra into his
# bag and he thought it was a free pack. He was arrested for shop-lifting and the
# Thai Police extortion price was 30,000 Baht for his release. He spent two nights
# in jail and paid 500 Baht for an air-conditioned cell, 200-300 baht for each
# visitor and 11,000 baht for his final release. The Police shared the money in
# front of his eyes. On top of that, he was charged in court and fined 2,000 baht
# by the magistrate and handcuffed and escorted to his plane. His passport was
# stamped "Thief". While there, his relatives requested help from the Indian
# Embassy and was told that they are helpless, many Asians are victimized
# similarly daily and letters and phone-calls to the Thai authorities are ignored.
# He shared a cell with a Singaporean the first night who paid 60,000 baht for his
# release. The second night was a Malaysian national who paid 70,000 baht.
# Mind you this was not in a shanty shop in downtown Bangkok but in a duty free
# shop at the Bangkok Int'l Airport . BE WARNED.
# The above is 100% correct information because Mr.Rajan Khera's customer from
# India faced exactly the same scenario mentioned above when he was in transit at
# Bangkok Int'l Airport coming to Taipei .
# Someone who went through the same ordeal in Dubai . He bought stuff at the Duty
# Free upon entering. The girl at Duty Free put a bottle of cologne in his
# shopping bag (he did not even see it happen). He was arrested for stealing (this
# is before he even picked up his lugg age). He sat at the airport jail where he
# was harassed for the whole day. NO FOOD, NO WATER for one day and only after he
# paid a fine (bribe of US 500...). That is all the cash he had in his pocket at
# the time. They let him go. These are scams that are happening all over the
# place. Please BE CAREFUL! All of this is pre-planned and the people who work at
# the airport know who to target.
# Unbelievable but apply caution.... the duty free employees intentionally put
# extra items to scam the passenger and we think that our country is the most
# corrupted one.....
# ALWAYS TAKE A RECEIPT FOR ANY FREE GIFT THAT THE DUTY FREE SHOP GIVES. PLEASE BE
# CAREFUL AND WATCHFUL WHEN YOU ARE BEING BILLED AND ITEMS PACKED IN INTERNATIONAL
# AIR PORTS (DUTY FREE SHOPS). REFUSE ANY UN DECLARED FREE GIFT, LOOK INTO YOUR BAG AND AT THE BILL BEFORE LEAVING THE STORE.

Get rid of the British laws & legistations

Sure we got freedom from the Brits in 1947 but the legacy system is still in place and it sucks. Even the Brits have moved on. Why have such law structures which do not keep up with time, changing social landscape and lifestyle of nucleated families...?

Just look at the situation in the country. People feel they'd do better for the country by leaving the landscape and then returning after a few years. Even the topmost idea on your own forum Hindustan Times, men are seeking a balance in the Indian legal system! Common Wealth Games, just like anything else is publicly screwed and Delhi is a "disaster" today.

Do something, you aging nutcases in the Government. Or get out like Brits.

TELEVISION: A HIGH RISK MEDIUM

Off all the media television has the most pervasive influence on children.Young people spend an avg.  of three hours a day watching tv, and other 3hrs or more on another screenbased entertainment.According to some estimates each year they watch an avg. of ten thousand murders, assaults and rapes, twenty thousand commercials  and fifteen thousand sexual situations, of which only 175 included birth control .Nearly 1/3rd of children 2 to 7yrs have a tv in their bedrooms, nearly 2/3rd of old children do.Most television content is meant to sell products and engage the child's attention

ONE more problem is affect of tv on viewrs tendency to promote passivity and a lack of creativity watching tv requires zero mental activity on the viewr's part you simply sit and let the images flow by.This is very different from reading , which forces you to use your imagination. The viewr becomes a passive receptacle for whatever images tv chooses to display some believe that non-participatory viewing fosters a short attention span, making it hard for children apply themselves in school.
Violence is another gift by television many studies reveals that exposure to violence on the screen results in children acting more aggressive toward their peer while at the same time feeling violence aggressively to attack.
Sincerely
Gurbinder Sharma

Macaulay's Minute on Education was dated February 2, 1835.

Macaulay's Minute on Education was dated February 2, 1835. The Governor General of India, William Bentinck approved the Minute on March 7, 1835 and it became the cornerstone of British India educational policy.
In para no. [32] he wrote "It is taken for granted by the advocates of oriental learning that no native of this country can possibly attain more than a mere smattering of English. They do not attempt to prove this. But they perpetually insinuate it." Is this still prevails?
In para no. [34] he mentioned the object for changing the system of education. "In one point I fully agree with the gentlemen to whose general views I am opposed. I feel with them that it is impossible for us, with our limited means, to attempt to educate the body of the people. We must at present do our best to form a class who may be interpreters between us and the millions whom we govern,  --a class of persons Indian in blood and colour, but English in tastes, in opinions, in morals and in intellect. To that class we may leave it to refine the vernacular dialects of the country, to enrich those dialects with terms of science borrowed from the Western nomenclature, and to render them by degrees fit vehicles for conveying knowledge to the great mass of the population."
Entire India barricaded with language barriers is crucial. This has to be removed by the educated persons as did Thomas Babington Macaulay. It is needed to finding a way out of this huge hurdle.
