I would like to suggest HT to do an article and/or a survey on the impact of all the over the top sexy scenes in the movies, which by the way have already stepped into vulgarity, on the views of Indians in general and the younger generation in specific on what they think an intimate relationship is all about.

It is true we no longer can pretend that sex is a taboo and that we should all be holier than thou.  Physical initimacy, intimate relations are part of our lives and there is no point in trying to portray that Indians do not indulge in skin to skin contact etc.  But at the same time, it appears that the promotion of all this vulgarity in the movie industry, which IS one of the powerful industry, is giving the idea that prosmiscuity or open sex ideas are the norm or healthy.  When even the western world whom we all love to blame for our downfalls are also trying to educate their youngs on healtier relationship, I see that we are somewhat going the opposite direction with all this micromini-almost-non-existent-clothed both men and women parading pornographic like scenes in the name of art in the big screens.

It is my personal opinion that children are one of the group of people that are most misunderstood.  Parents whom I have encountered especially among the Asians (and being and Indian I can vouch that I have seen it personally) tend to label children as being mischievous, lazy, obnoxious, rude etc without stopping for a moment to figure out the underlying problem such as ADHD or dyslexia.  The best example would have been as portrayed by the movie Tare Zameen Par.  It is not just a Bollywood story but the reality of thousands if not millions of children.  

There is a tendency for parents to accept 100% conformance to the general social norm.  Exceptions and differece which could actually mean a certain special talent is often scoffed off as abnormality and great effort is put to wipe it out.  Although times are changing and growing number of parents are seeing otherwise, but a greater number still expects the children to compete with the others and refuse to accept their uniqueness.

Learning disabilities are categorised as some form or disease.  Many children fail misearably because they are not given the proper help that they need.  What I am curious about is why is there a great need to see our child beat the neighbours at a game of chess or get a better score than a distant cousin.  Is it not possible to see our own offspring as themselves without comparing with others? Must the children always be the parents trophy of achievement or monument of failure?
